Knowledge- Post Response (NoHN)

This is a response to this post.

"The Sophists had sort of corrupted education, twisting it into a profession where they instilled virtue while holding that virtue was relative and teaching how to win at arguments (or 'win' at life) through tricky, circular logic."

I mostly wanted to touch upon this sentence. Circular reasoning is a fallacy and it is logically incorrect. However, I also believe that many people are tricked into agreeing or disagreeing with certain arguments  Can't a fallacy just be another way to win an argument? If not being able to notice faulty reasoning is a fault within your "opponent" then can't it be used against them to win an argument? I think that circular reasoning could just be another object in a debaters toolbox. Therefore, in my opinion, it is not corrupt[ing] education" if it is being used to teach people how to win at life.
